What
Scribe does.

The same ideas on both devices: hold or tap, talk, and the words land. Each platform adds what only it can do.

Four tones, and a tone per app

Refine turns what you said into clear writing: Natural, Casual, Formal or Code. On the Mac, Style by app picks the tone for you: Casual in Messages and Slack, Code in Xcode and Terminal, your default everywhere else.

Code keeps identifiers, paths and commands exactly as spoken. Set an output language and Refine translates as it cleans up.

Refine in detail

A call becomes a transcript and a summary

Choose Record meeting during any call on the Mac. Scribe captures your microphone and the call's audio, labels turns as You and Speaker 1, 2, 3, and writes a short summary with action items. On iPhone, record in-person meetings with the microphone for up to four hours.

Always ask before you record.

Meetings on Mac

Swipe to type

Behind Talk is a full keyboard laid out like Apple's: suggestions, autocorrect in 33 languages, curly quotes, long-press accents, a numbers layer. Slide across the letters and the word is inserted; alternatives wait in the suggestion bar.

Taps learn your aim over time, so the keys you tend to miss get a little easier to hit.

The keyboard in detail

Correct it once

When Scribe hears a name wrong and you fix it, it asks once whether to spell it that way from now on. Say yes and the word lands in your Dictionary with its heard-as spelling. Say no and it backs off.

Everything it learned is listed in Corrections, where you can edit or remove it.

Auto-learning and Corrections

Your key, your pedal

On the Mac the talk shortcut is yours to choose: a single modifier like the right Option key, a combination, or a foot pedal sending F13 to F20. Hold it and talk, let go and the text is typed at your cursor.

Add Shift for hands-free, or ⌘ for Refine. On iPhone, start from the Action Button, Control Center or Back Tap.

Choosing a talk shortcut

Transcribe a recording

Drop an audio file onto the Library on the Mac, or share one from Voice Memos or Files on iPhone. Scribe copies it into its meeting storage, tells speakers apart and writes a summary, exactly as it does for a live meeting.

Ask the people in the recording before you transcribe it.
